- All discussions begin promptly at 7:30 PM and conclude approximately 9:00 PM. You may arrive at 7:00 PM and light refreshments will be served.

DISCUSSION FACILITATORS
DANIEL G. O'HARE, S. J. Ph, D.
Dr. O'Hare currently lectures in Medical Ethics at New York Medical College, at the Graduate School of Social Service of Fordham University, and in the Anesthesiology program of Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. He is also the consultant ethicist to several hospitals and health care agencies and previously served as the first institutional ethicist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He has published in the area of Ethics, AIDS and Physician-Assisted Suicide. A frequent speaker both nationally and internationally, Dr. O'Hare was named a Harris Fellow by the American Bureau of Medical Advancement in China, and has recently been invited to join the Board of the Foundation for Hospices in Sub Saharan Africa. Dr. O'Hare is also a Jesuit priest with nearly thirty years experience with terminally ill patients, their families and love ones.

SHERRY R. SCHACHTER, Ph. D.
Dr. Schachter recently retired after 23 years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York City, where she was the coordinator of hospitals bereavement program. She is now the Director of Bereavement Services for Calvary Hospital/Hospice where she develops and coordinates educational services for staff and facilitates bereavement support groups. In addition, Dr. Schachter has a private practice and also publishes and lectures on issues related to dying, death and loss. Currently she is the Immediate Past President of Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). ADEC is one of the oldest interdisciplinary organizations in the filed of dying, death and bereavement. This international professional organization is dedicated to promoting excellence in death education, care of the dying, and bereavement counseling and support.
